Every Viking I own has had problems

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Had to throw away my Viking fridge and dishwasher that was only 7 years old. I paid thousands of dollars for service. No help and no service. Their office is 40 miles away. My wine storage unit is frozen in the back. My blower on hood quit. My range needs service. Need I say anymore? Oh, I am the ex wife of the former largest Viking distributor in the United States. Mind blowing!

Dishonest advertising and sending dented products

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Viking Range - Dishonest advertising and sending dented products

I bought Viking appliances set thinking I am buying something top of the line. What a disappointment.

Their customer service doesn’t care to make it right. Dents - a lot of them. Design flaws are hidden in their online advertising. I got a stove with big holes and they tell me that is normal.

Old LG appliances functioned a lot better then these. To summarize Viking - more money less features - we are stupid for buying their products or trusting their American made story. Appliances came from Turkey and Mexico - dented. And because our kitchen build out took long and we didn’t see the flaws until it all got brought inside the house and assembled they say we are outside of their 30 day return window.

We are disappointed.

When we try to post one star review about their appliances they get rejected. I would never trust Viking and their affiliates again!

Electric Oven

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Viking Range - Electric Oven

Redid my entire Kitchen 5 years ago. I thought I was buying top of the line Viking dishwasher, Viking Refrigerator, Viking Stovetop, Viking heating tray, Viking Oven.

……. It is my husband and I only and we rarely use the oven. In 5 years I think I have used it maybe four time a year and that is it. I had company for Thanksgiving and was cooking the turkey and the oven shut off and began to beep with an F02 code.

I turned it off and turned it back on and 30 minutes later it did it again..... This happened four times. The turkey did finish cooking but I was a nervous wreck. Called them...nothing covered it is completely on me.

Repair man said this seems to be common...Great the oven was big bucks!!!! He says I need a new control board and it is not heating correctly. He ordered the parts and is coming back. I am not happy.

My old oven lasted 25 years. Viking needs to make a better product I will tell everyone I know, and my husband knows plenty of contractors, NEVER BUY A VIKING!!!

Rusting Viking Range

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My Viking Range starting rusting after 18 months post delivery. I called the company and was told two things: A) It is cosmetic and we don't cover it, but try using rust remover. B) We will send you the replacement bullnose head at a 25% discount, but I have to pay for labor. I am truly displeased with Viking's customer service response, and do not recommend this product. I believe they are using a lower end steel which is prone to rusting. I have a Weber grill which has been outside for 10 years with no rust at all. I understand that issues happen with appliances, but Viking's response indicates that this company truly does not care about customer satisfaction post sale. I would seriously consider other products and Viking has lost me for life as a customer. I was so excited to finally own one of their beautiful products, but it is really nothing more than a Sears appliance with a tag on it. Thank you

Heat leak from oven door from date of purchase, Had the door replaced first year because of heat leak that made knobs to hot to touch. The Range is 7 years old and the door has never been sealed right from day one until the guarantee ran out and I was stuck with it.

Over time the rubber on the knobs got damaged from the heat and I called for replacements. Was told I had to buy the whole *** that you could not buy the rubber *** covers, So that meant spending hundreds of dollars for new knobs rather than buying the covers for maybe $10.00, Spend $3500.00 for a range and they wont sell a $10.00 Item Viking is the worst company that I have ever dealt with in my 82 years. Would never advice anyone to purchase a Viking.

Anyone with the same problem would be to purchase # 219 or #220 O Rings and put 4 on each *** rather than buying new *** at a over inflated price. What makes a person sick is they get a huge tax reduction to pad their profit and gouge the public

Refrigerator hinge recall parts delivery hassle

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My refrigerator which cost $8600. has a hinge recall. Servi man said doors fall off and one lady had her toe chopped off when it happened. So I called and ordered the part from the recall center n 7/26/18. They sent the wrong part two weeks later. They select the part themselves using the model number. Please note the door will not close so I have no refrigerator or freezer because if you leave it running with the door open the compressor will burn up. We called and ordered the parts again from the recall department. That was 8/15/18 it is now 8/22/18 and not one person knows if the parts have shipped or not. I am so angry. I can not have anyone in the kitchen because we fear door could injure someone. I am on hols now with the main parts department customer service. I have been on hold off and on for twenty minutes at a time with no person picking up the call. Do yourself a favor and buy a different type of refrigerator. Two months and still no parts for the recall that could kill a child or old person. So very dangerous and they just do not seem to have a clue. Now they tell me they have to make the part and have nothing to send me. They do not know when the part will be ready.

You know it has a problem. Forewarned is forearmed. Don't let your child mess with the stove ; and I don't know any old people who cook much.

Viking ***

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
$21,516. That is the amount that we paid on Halloween day in 2010 for a Viking appliance package that included a dual fuel range, built-in refrigerator, dishwasher and beverage center. I can honestly say that it was the singularly worst purchase decision I have ever made. Not only has the equipment performed poorly when functioning, it is not functioning all too often. To top it off, when service is required, we endure a virtual absence of service providers in our city of nearly 1,000,000 people. Recently, both refrigerator and range ceased to function. The one service company which would service the equipment told us "I'll order new circuit boards for the equipment, but there is no guarantee that will fix them. Either way, you have to pay for the boards up front." We spun the wheel and bought the boards for $1,200. I feel somewhat lucky that the refrigerator was restored to operation following the installation of a new board. Sadly, the new circuit board did not repair the range and the service tech is now suggesting that "maybe" the fan is the problem on the range. We have been offered another shot at the wheel for some $300… with no guarantee, of course. To be fair, we are people that paid $21,000+ for kitchen appliances. If that's where you live, you have to learn to recognize that you may be susceptible to valuing image over quality. In this case, we bought a name that has cache' far greater than it deserves. Unlike a high maintenance Porsche that is awesome when it is working, this equipment is mediocre at its best and abysmal when it's not. Literally better off using middle-market brands at a fraction of the cost.

Unable to get anyone to service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We bought a house last year that has a Viking stove. Within a few months of moving in, one of the burners as well as the oven stopped working correctly. I live in Southern York County, PA, near the Maryland line (40 minutes from Baltimore, 40 minutes from Harrisburg) yet there is NO ONE who services Viking ranges anywhere near me. I have contacted Viking numerous times and they are no help at all. Now we have to buy a new stove. Why would anyone want a Viking range that is unable to be fixed when something goes wrong??? I will never buy a Viking - awful customer service and defective, expensive appliances.

Lemon refrigerator. Will never buy again Viking product

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Having Viking Professional refrigerator VCFF036 for 10 years. After first 4 month of use, I noticed that my hardwood floor around this refrigerator went up and found a water leak from the basement ceiling. Called Viking, they sent technician and I was told that dripping pan, under the compressor has crack in it. Viking repaired refrigerator and paid for hardwood floor damages. Now, the same problem appears again. But this time, Viking refused to take care of his lemon product. To get technician to my door, I paid $185 + $126 for replacement plastic pan, and to install it, it requires 2 technicians to come in and flip refrigerator to the floor in order to re-install this pan. Cost - $150 per hour for 2 Techs. Not to mention, that hardwood floor damaged again. I will never buy Viking products again. Viking does not stay behind his products. Just don't care. Refrigerator Model # VCFF036. Serial:1257****NG

Bought Viking oven and refrigerator... 17,000 dollars

Our Viking, "Professional" French door oven went out TWICE the first 6 months we had it. We have had the refrigerator just over a year, and now it doesn't work. The Viking people did come out to repair the oven, but I still don't think it works as well as it should. They were less than enthusiastic... bored and apathetic. We had to call several times to get our work scheduled. I'll call Best Buy tomorrow and try to work on the refrigerator. I do not write negative reviews as a rule, but feel inclined to say STAY AWAY FROM VIKING! To put it in perspective, I had a Sub Zero for 20 years and only got the Viking because the Sub-Z had started to rust at the bottom. I was at Best Buy and saw the Viking and they couldn't sing their praises highly enough. I wish I had NEVER bought into the sales pitch about this company. We spent 17,000 on junk.

Non-existint customer service makes Viking a poor choice

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
It is now August 8, 2017. I originally made a call for service on June 15, 2017. The problem is still unresolved. I wrote an email to the Regional Manager asking for help in getting the refrigerator repaired. He did not respond. I wrote a letter to the corporate office in Mississippi. We did receive a phone call. My husband spoke with a representative at length. She claimed she didn't realize we were having so many problems; however, I explained the problems in the letter. She asked that we send another letter to Management Review and provided an email address. I wrote another letter, attached the initial letter to the corporate office and attached the letter to the Regional Manager so the Management Review can see that I am reaching out to all the appropriate parties for assistance. To date, I have received no response. This is a warranty issue. The sealed system failed for the second time in seven years. They claim that they are pursuing a new first rate customer service policy. To date, I can say that their customer service is nil. The CEO of Middleby Corporation, which purchased Viking, said he wants to make the world a better place. That is a lofty ideal for a person who can't even make a refrigerator a better product.

Viking Built In Refrigerator is a paperweight

Updated by user Aug 26, 2017

I wrote a comprehensive letter to the CEO of Viking /Middleby Corporation, Mr. Salim Bassoul, immediately after my last post.

It was sent priority overnight mail. It is now August 26, 2017, and I have not received ANY response from Viking. I have been diligent; I have issued supporting documents, and I have received nothing in return. Buying Viking is truly at your own risk.

The product is a poor one and fails to function as designed.

For such an expensive product, one expects higher quality in both the product itself and in customer service. Viking fails miserably in both categories.

Updated by user Aug 10, 2017

On August 9, 2017, I finally received a response from Management Review who wanted a copy of the written paperwork that I received from the Regional Manager order to pursue an investigation. I replied that I had no paperwork because the Regional Manager never responded to our requests fro assistance.

Today, August 10, 2017, I received a response saying that Management Review will have to uphold the decision of the Regional Manager. What decision? I was just blown off by someone who doesn't want to pursue the issue of complete product failure. Since I responded late yesterday afternoon, and received a response early this morning, there was no time for her to contact the Regional Manager.

Viking Customer Service is non-existent! I am now writing to the CEO.

What do I have to lose? My time, of course, but we should all know what happens when the issue is taken to "the top." I'll advise if and when I get a response from CEO, Salim Bassoul.

Original review Jul 06, 2017
We purchased a built-in Viking All Refrigerator. In seven years, we have had to have it repaired seven times including a complete sealed system replacement. As I write this review, we have ice chests in the kitchen trying to salvage the remaining food. We woke up to a failed refrigerator and spoiled food. We spent most of the morning throwing food down the drain. Viking customer service is horrible. We called the district manager yesterday, and he has yet to return the call. I have to cancel the arrival of my house guests over the weekend, because I don't have reliable food storage. We had a Kenmore for seventeen years and only bought a new one because we upgraded our kitchen. When we built a new home, we decided to go with a complete Viking kitchen for the resale value. What a joke. I wouldn't but another Viking product if my life depended on it. I wouldn't recommend Viking to anyone.
