Seven years ago we have purchased our Viking Professional 60 inch gas range with griddle. While we had extended warranty on the product, we had several parts replaced, egnitor for the griddle and closing mechanism for the oven door.

This year, the egnitor for the griddle is not working again. Since my husband is very handy, he started to have a better look at the range, and found out that the heat sheld for the griddle has 13 broken welds, out of 15, both igniters in the oven are not working and the oven heat shield has three wholes. As well, the supply tube for griddle is pinched between sharp mettal holding one of the burners, just waiting for a possible gs leak and explosion. We have contacted the company and it will cost us over $3500 for parts only, not including the labour, and there is still no guarantee, how long the range will performe.

Very poor product, considering that we have paid $8000 only seven years ago. Even though the issues are very significant and it appears that we might have bought a lemon, Viking is not talking to us, not willing to help at all.

So the only thing that we cn do, is to save $ for a different range and get for funds back from Viking by scrapping the metal. Please, do not buy Viking, once you own the product, company doesn't care!

Terrible customer service!!!! Their Customer Service representatives need some serious training.
