The cheaply made start switch failed on my integrated dishwasher model DFB450E. Evidently a know deficiency, but Viking choses not to stand behind it.
"Limited" warranty means they only cover what they want to. Although the manual says the limited warranty covers 'electronics', Viking interprets "limited warranty" as "limited to certain parts" that they have on an unpublished list. In other words, they can always say 'that isn't covered under the limited warranty because that part is not listed'. Even if it were covered, I was told that the cost of a repairman assessment visit ($89) would not be covered anyway.
This is a $1700 dishwasher!
I would have had better service on a $300 Kenmore. I will NEVER buy another supposedly 'luxury' appliance from Viking since they use cheap components and don't stand behind their products.
